Blank Page - One Palette - 4 by 4's
In July I did several posts on using One Palette. I even left a blank page for you to copy and use any way you wanted. I thought you might enjoy seeing what I did with that blank page. First I cut it up into four 4" by 4" pieces. I had one thin and long piece left which I turned into a book mark [see previous post.]
I enjoy working in this small format. I find it is a good way to warm up when I first come in to my studio, a good way to use up some of the smaller scraps that seem to build up on my work table. The collage process seems to go quickly on such a smaller piece.
I have a cigar box that the 4" by 4" fit into perfectly. For the past couple of years I store what ever I have made in that box. At the end of the year I make a cover and bind them all into a chunky book. It always amazes me how many pages I have. It is a good way to sort of see where and what you did through the year.
Two cool ideas, Elizabeth! What method do you use to bind the 4X4 collages into a book?
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful Idea. Love all your 4 X4 pages!!Now, the last page - the background looks almost like rust. Is it?
Great work as always. Thanks so much for sharing.
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Marie
What a great idea. I love these pages and the images are delightful. They will make a wonderful book
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Your 4x4s are beautiful. Now I'm off to find just the proper box!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that nice little square, 4 x 4. Love what you did with your blank pages. :)Bea
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how each of these pages has it's own unique personality - even though the backgrounds are similar colors! What an awesome idea to bind the pages at the end of the year. Hmmmmm . . . . seeing this new work reminds me to ask . . . . does this mean that you're back in your studio???? Hugs, Terri xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThese pieces are wonderful. I especially like the way you used the sewing machine as accent and to join the pieces.
ReplyDeleteLovely pages, I like the 'double trouble' :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors as well, the brown and blue goes very well together! Great work!
Wonderful pages...love the colors and composition.
ReplyDeleteNice pages. That's a great idea of storing up what you've done for a year. You can then see you really have done a lot. I always wonder how much time I've wasted "doing nothing" and am surprised if I start a list of projects done but sometimes at that point, I forget some.
ReplyDeleteSometimes less is more - fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous 4x4's! I love the colors and I love the idea of making a book at the end of the year. I actually have two cigar boxes in which I have stored 4x4's and some slightly larger gluebook pages I have made. Will have to keep your idea in mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous cards! I love the variety, even tho they have the same background!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better! Glad to see you are having fun creating!
I love you idea of storing your work in a box and making a book at the end of the year. These are wonderful. I keep trying to imagine making those pleats on theh little girl's dress.
