Three Muses Challenge - Numbers

This week for the Three Muses Challenge the theme is numbers. I have been working on a bunch of digital backgrounds and numbers was one of them. I tweaked this one a bit and added the school and the lovely Math teacher. Women like this taught future engineers who designed our road and bridge systems, along with some of those first skyscrapers. Amazing. This challenge was really a treat to work on. I can't wait to see everyone's interpretation of this theme.

Wonderful artwork…
A great mix of new and old…

My husband’s grandfather was a civil engineer who worked
on the subway system of NYC around 1900. I can’t imagine that city without it…

Wow! The background is so dramatic with its intense colours and the grungy framework and numbers. I love your dainty schoolmarm and she looks comfortable in her new setting. Beautiful work.

Isn't it interesting that although women taught the men who built and designed our bridges, cities, etc., it was mostly women who taught them with no thought of adulation or praise. Remarkable!

Your background is absolutely wonderful, Eliazabeth. So vivid and bold behind this sweet, unassuming teacher. Fabulous! Hugs, Terri xoxo

Your number collage is absolutely georgous! And so is the Autumn Numbers, which I saw now, too. The abstract designs look great, and the brisk colours fit them well. - And you are so right in what you say about the teachers, past and present, we can never overestimate their influence and importance!
