Its My Party ....Freebies

Because it is my birthday weekend I decided to pick something that I thought everyone would like...so ...here are some French Postcards for you. I am thinking the thing they all have in common is hair things. My BFF sent me a box full of goodies - some of them were wonderful hair ornaments from when we were in high school. I still have the long hair so she sent me hers, they are FAB...silver , tortoise shell, yummy.

Freebies - Things with Wings

One of the amazing things about summer is all of the insects that come to life. Some are annoying but for the most part most are amazing. We can thank them for pollinating our flowers and fruit. These are a few winged things for you to use in your art. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do watching the real thing.

Memorial Day Freebies

These are in honor of those who have served this country and their families. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for my freedom. I know it is a bit early, but I am sure lots of you are heading out to spend time off with friends and family and might need an image or two to whip into a card or something.

Freebies - Trade cards - Hats

This week I decided on "Hats". Nothing makes quite a statement as a hat. I wore a big ole southern bell hat for one of my marriages. In the summer, a straw hat is a necessity when working in the flower beds or sitting in the sun. Hats are great for the "bad "hair days. Pull your hair in a pony tail and put on a baseball cap and you look like you have been working out hard. Nothing can complete an outfit like a hat. Remember in the movie with Dianne Ladd when she goes to Italy - Under the Tuscan Sun? There is the blond woman who wear's the big black hat and looks so fantastic. Why don't people where hats like that any more? I guess they are hard to sit in a car and drive with. Any way here are some trade cards from my collection. Enjoy.

Freebies #32 - Tiny Dancers

Late last night I ran across a bunch of these very old Italian prints of various dancers. I had been looking for them for ages and finally found them. Don't you hate it when you misplace or lose something? Some of them are quite old - like 1756 and up. The work is superb. I am not sure how well they will show up here. They make me think of young girls dancing around the May pole. When the weather gets nice and the flowers are blooming I want to dance...

Freebies - Mother's Day Images #2

I am a little getting these out a little late today. I was doing Mother things today. Waiting for the appliance repair man to make the third trip to fix my stove. Yes, I can self clean now! Making phone calls for other house related things. Looking for a birthday gift for youngest son, planning a cake, dinner and assorted birthday surprises.

When I went through my folders of images I decided that I should probably do several sets. These are the stylized version of Motherhood. Tomorrow will be actual Mothers and their children. Stay tuned.

Familiy Freebies

November is a month we start to concentrate on Family and all the things we are thankful for. I thought I would share some family type photos as my freebies this week.


A very important day. I am thinking Mother's Day or maybe this young girl is off to meet her future husband. Her father is very proud of her. They share more than just their looks. Mother is a little too practical.


Here the young girl is years later with all of her in- laws, husband and son. Recognize her? She is the one in the second row second from the left with the little boy. I can't help wondering if she is wondering how she got there.

Ahh the young couple ready to begin their own family. He looks extremely amused. She is the more serious of the two. The bead work on her dress is lovely. I believe it is one of those pieces that is tacked on and then removed when the dress is laundered. In some of my flea marketing I have run across a couple of these bead pieces. They are wonderful.

This family from Iowa looks very disconnected. Father looking in a separate direction while the two women stare straight on at the photographer. I wonder what could possibly been so important that the father would not engage in the whole process.

I really love this Texas family. What pioneers they must have been to have seven children. The mother and father look so young. I am pretty sure there were more kids. This photograph is definitely not in the most pristine condition. I like the yellow color and all the fading. It has possibilities. I think the thing I like the most is how well taken care of each child is. The boys hair all combed and the little girls dresses are so pretty, I think that thing in front of them might be a dog.
