Some Halloween Freebies....

I realized this morning we are already a week into October and I had not shared any Halloween images. My bad. As those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know this is one of my favorite holidays. It is not the idea of witches, but the dressing up and getting candy that I have always loved. The whole concept of dressing up and being someone you are totally not. My boys were so enthusiastic about the costumes and gathering of treats it became very contagious. We went all out decorating the house and throwing parties. Our family has three birthdays all in the week of Halloween. Lots of little ghosties at my house. Here are a few images to get the spirit started. Enjoy!

I love this little girl with the owl on her shoulder doing magic tricks.

What is Halloween without a few witches and a broom or two? I like the white cat instead of a black cat, very different.

The imps and pumpkin's faces really make this. Halloween is a time to be a little mischievous.

Too funny! The cat's collar just cracks me up. I want to know what cat would wear that for more than 2 seconds?

Mr Moon is so beautiful in this card. Hope you enjoy these and can use them in your art work!

Freebies - A Few Good Witches....

This is one of my favorite Halloween postcards. She is so pretty and I just love the big old moon.

This just cracks me up. She and her kitty are so sweet. It reminds me of taking that picture of your sweet precious one in their costume just before the trick or treat fun begins.

My favorite Ellen Clapsaddle Halloween postcard.

Isn't she incredible with her owl head dress? I want a costume like that.

She is such a sweet little witch. Maybe a cousin to Little Red Riding Hood.

One more week till Halloween is upon us. With that in mind I decided to pull out some images and make a few things today. It is pouring rain here. As I was going through my folder of Halloween images I was struck by how many witches in red with their little black kitties I have. I decided to go through them and pick out five of them for all of you. Hope you can use them in your art...

Halloween Freebies

Tonight I realized I had not posted any Halloween Freebies. I loved Halloween when I was growing up. I always wanted to wear a cool costume and the free candy was wonderful. My boys were always so much fun. They really got into their costumes and the pillow cases full of candy lasted till Christmas. I gave them one night to gorge then it was put into a giant wooden dough bowl in the kitchen. Their father would take them in wagons through the neighborhood while I stayed home with the babies and handed out candy and took photo's of all the neighborhood kids in their glory. At a certain time we would break off and meet all of the neighbors in a designated garage for hot cider and hot cocoa. Last year I had one group of trick or treater's. Every thing is done at the church or mall now. Here are some old postcards to go with the old memories. Enjoy...

Some sweet Halloween postcards as my eye candy for you for Halloween. Several of these are from my favorite postcard artist Ellen Clapsaddle. All her images are so sweet. Enjoy. They are all copyright free from about 1908 to 1911.

Some freebies for You... Magicians

I thought since we are into October already - can you believe it? I would share some posters of Magicians and a scary movie poster. These make excellent background for Halloween projects.  Also, great decorations for your home for Halloween. I wish I could have seen them all perform. I bet they were really amazing.

Birthday Time

Happy Birthday Richie Rich! We love you!

Today is another one of my boys birthdays. Mr. Richard. The one who was born thirty. So wise for his age. Last week was Mr. Thomas's. My fearless warrior. The one who could fly off of anything and felt no pain. We have four birthdays in nine days and throw in Halloween and it is a non stop party in my life. It is cupcakes, pies, and birthday cake. A great way to start off the Holiday season. It is so much fun watching these guys grow and turn into themselves. Such a privilege to be their Mom. Wishing you both Happiness.

Happy Birthday Mr. Tom. We love and miss you. Catch a big wave for us.

Crow Freebies

This weeks freebies are Crows.  I have been fascinated with these birds since I was a child.  They live in big communities - rooks.  They can be quite mean, particularly to a non conforming member.  They like bright and shiny things. They are loud, eat very disgusting things, and generally can be quite wicked.
I thought with Halloween an October coming up I would give you a few to use in your art work.  I am sending a special shout out to Marion who also appreciates these as I do. Enjoy! p.s. don't forget to double click on these.

Louisa May Alcott Freebies

Louisa May Alcott

Louisa May Alcott's head stone just in time for Halloween

Alcott family headstone

Louisa May Alcott was editor for a time to this magazine.

The front door to Orchard House just in case some one wants to do something cool with it.

Orchard House

I have always been rather enchanted with Louisa May Alcott. The romantic in me speaks. The large loving family of sisters. The ability to write such charming stories. To think she shared ideas and walked in the woods with Emerson makes my heart stand still. I thought I would share these images in a bigger format than a collage sheet. I hope you have fun with them.

Digital Collage - Remember Me

I am starting to think about Halloween - one of my favorite holidays. I did this small digital collage today. These two sisters remind me of some haunted by what they have seen kids. The older one in particular. I am wondering if she has a cast on her arm. She looks so sad. I want to thank Viola for the little girls image.

Antique Insect Images

This week I decided to go with some winged things and threw in a few spiders at the end for your Halloween art. I am working on some nature pages for a friends tip in. I have been perusing all my prints. I found these and thought I would share. Some new wings for some fairies.
