This is the season we spend a lot of time thinking about and being with our families. I thought these photographs of different families might strike a chord with you. 

Families come in different sizes with different types of people. They say you can not pick your family. Well, after many years I have decided that it is about taking care and loving your family. Accepting who they are and loving them because of or in spite of. Building on that.

I hope you all have a wonderful time with your families. Build incredible, lasting memories. Stop and savor the moment. Enjoy it all.

Families. Families come in all shapes and

sizes. Families with both Mom and Dad.

Families with Fathers and Mothers, sisters

and brothers. Families with all boys or

all girls, families with just mothers or

just fathers. We do not pick these families

they are given to us. Families are a gift.

In hard times we turn to family, in good

times we turn to families. Celebrate your

family. 

I know that all families are not like my family.

However, I like to think that most families

are happy, loving, and take care of each other.

When our families don't I like to think that

we make new families with our friends 

and the people we love. 

Families are complicated. Very Complicated.

We all need a family to love us and support

us in the things we do. I have found that I

am blessed with the people in my family.

Please take a moment to appreciate

and tell those who make up your

family that you love them. 

Friends and Loved Ones

The past few days have been filled with entertainment from friends and loved ones. I have been distracted with good conversations, food and laughter. I will be back in the next day or so renourished and full of new projects.

Fourth of July always makes me feel like a little girl. Food, family, friends topped off with fireworks at the beach. So here is a family and a couple of little girls for you to use in your art work. Have a wonderful fourth, I hope it brings out the child in you.

Once Upon A "Time"........Remember

This is a six by eight altered child's board book. I found that a lot of the images I use are small children or women. With this book I wanted to focus on the "guys." I am the mother of five boys. This should be easy. Not so. Sorting and hunting for the right image that had a timeless appeal was a lot harder than I thought. I wanted to try and capture the spirit that boys and young men have when around each other. That playfulness that any moment can erupt into a competition. Those moments of innocence and devilment. I am not sure I accomplished that, but I do know this was a really fun book to work on.
