Apple Pie

Now doesn't that look yummy? It is quick and easy and apples are definitely in season. I buy pie crust pre - made at the grocery store for this. It is easier and cuts down on time. However if you are into the baking thing make your own crust. I just can never live up to my grandmother's.

6 apples
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice - I use fresh
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nut meats or raisins
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Fix your pie shell. Peel, core, and slice apples. Place in shell. Cover with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. In a medium bowl mix brown sugar, butter, and flour until it has the consistency of corn meal. Add raisins or nut meats. Place evenly over apples. Take pie dough and make a lattice top. Bake one hour at 400 degrees. I check to make sure lattice doesn't brown to fast.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Man, now I am craving Apple Pie! Big time! Looks lushious (did I spell that right?!)
Like you, love those Pilsbury pre-made crusts...can't make a good one for the life of me! Plus it's all about the taste, not the work!
